We have been privileged to receive artefacts from Hampshire to examine and explore. All of Year 3 and 4 thoroughly enjoyed investigating what each artefact was and what it may have been used for. Some children were very surprised to learn what the artefact actually was. They enjoyed discussing each one.
Today we explored and investigated soil. We got messy and used all of our observational skills, except we decided to leave out tasting the soil, to gain a deeper understanding about what it really is. Children then devised an experiment to test whether sand or soil used to grow plants would drain more water and why. Delphinus and Phoenix are looking forward to the doing the experiment next week and it will be interesting to compare the results across the phase. Photos to follow!
